Neverland Ranch
LOS OLIVOS, CALIFORNIA
Neverland Ranch is a sprawling 2,700-acre property in Los Olivos, California, on the doorstep of Los Padres National Forest. When Michael Jackson bought Sycamore Valley Ranch, he renamed it Neverland—an ode to Peter Pan’s immortal refuge and the place’s own endless sense of wonder.
Fieldwork, Discovery, and Narrative Architecture
Over the centuries, this has been an enchanted kingdom for Chumash Indians, for Caballeros, for a real estate magnate, and the King of Pop—and that layered history became the spine of the narrative. We began with research and time on-site: walking the land, studying the home, and gathering the details that give a place its gravity. From sweeping scale to quiet human moments, the goal was simple—capture the majesty without flattening the nuance.
Editorial Craft, Materials, and Impact
The volume was designed as a collectible art object—paced like a curated exhibition, built on a disciplined grid, and executed with typographic restraint that lets imagery and detail breathe. Finished as a limited-run, hardbound edition in premium textured vegan leather with gold-foil embossing, it was anchored by the enduring Neverland emblem illustrated by Greg Coulton. Delivered as a private presentation piece, the work captured the majesty of the ranch with clarity and intention—supporting a successful outcome that culminated in a $22M sale.
